Crooks & Castles x Vans Forty-Four Hi - June 2009

When Vans unveiled their East vs West Pack of Forty-Four Highs back in January, we already knew that the black pair in that pack would be accompanied by a white counterpart. At the time, we believed the white version would release around the time of the black pair’s February drop, but it didn’t go down like that. Instead, the shoe that’s also been referred to as ‘Fremont Hi’ will release at a more appropriate time for white shoes. The Crooks & Castles x Vans Forty-Four Hi will be available next Saturday, June 6th only at the Crooks 8021 flagship in LA. via CtotheJL

Proper x Reebok Dual Pump Runner

Over only a handful of collaborative projects, Proper has already firmly established itself as purveyors of clean, well designed footwear. Their latest collaboration takes them into Reebok country with the Dual Pump Runner. Three colorways each share some nice color match-ups throughout with our pick of the litter seen in black, blue and reddish orange. No word yet on a definitive release date but they should drop this summer.

adidas Originals ZX 95 Run “Sunshine”

An amalgamation of the iconic running profiles of the 1980s and 1990s, despite the adidas Originals ZX 95 Runs billing as a hybrid, not a bit of the design comes across as contrived or forced. The shoe’s sleek, streamline upper is met with a techy looking external heel counter as everything is tied together with a great colorway, kudos to the color designer on this one. FC Barcelona x Nike Blazer Hi

Commemorating the newly crowned 2009 UEFA Champions League champion, Nike works up a special FC Barcelona colorway in their classic Blazer Hi model. The sample kicks feature a mostly white base with the Spanish football/soccer club’s crest on the heel and tongue, alongside a matching jersey material/color scheme. For those interested, the sneakers are available via Mental Kicks’ online store, although unfortunately, in a size 9 only.

Nike Air Max Light - White - Metallic Gold - Black

It seems like over the last few months, there have been a bunch of new Air Max Light colorways dropping and despite the shoe’s sleek look and classic appeal, the model never seems to get the hype and respect that it deserves. This latest Air Max Light uses a super-crisp color scheme to make sure that they do a better job of standing out among the Nike Retro pack. The shoe features a Black leather/mesh upper that is nicely contrasted by White toe and heel mudguards, as well as a White midsole and lining. A Metallic Gold Swoosh and accents finish off the look and add some nice highlights to the striking color blocking. If you’ve been letting all these fresh Air Max Light colorways pass you by, this pair might be worth a second look. Taking inspiration from some of the more creative individuals in the industry, Converse works up a new collection of sneakers entitled Converse Co* (Co-Star). The lineup will be sold exclusively through Footlocker retail outlets with colorways slated to release periodically throughout the following months. This first colorway sports a simple red/white two-tone makeup which is now available at participating Footlocker locations nationwide.

The Air Jordan Six (6) Rings has been one of the more successful and liked hybrid models from Jordan Brand to date, so while the team at Jordan Brand have slowed down with the number of colorways we’ve seen of this particular shoe since the “Championship Pack”, we will see at least one more release of this shoe in a new colorway very soon. Here is a look at the Air Jordan Six (6) Rings “Hall of Fame” colorway, which honors MJ and his induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame this year. The HOF Air Jordan 6 Rings comes in a Black base with hints of Metallic Gold and Varsity Red. Additionally there is a number graphic printed on the midsole of the shoe. These are slated to be released in the upcoming months, while a specific release date has yet to be finalized. However like the Air Jordan III “True Blue” Retro’s, you can pick these up now at marqueesole.

All three feature trademark PUMA details alongside a nautical-geared aesthetic on the Keel and Gale while the Aqua Mostro receives an enhanced sporty aqua sock-like design makeup. Greedy Genius Ocean Runner

Receiving rave reviews upon the unveiling of their Ocean Runner last month, Greedy Genius unmask two further colorways from their upcoming footwear lineup. Keeping in tune with the recent Nubuck theme, Greedy work up a tonal black offering alongside a full grain leather navy blue joint. Air Jordan True Flight GS - Urban Safari Pack

Last year’s Nike Urban Jungle Pack paid tribute to the early-90’s trend toward Afrocentric patterns by offering a trio of white sneakers that featured bright patterns in primary colours. They followed that with the Urban Night Pack late last year, this time opting to mix black shoes with neon colours from the same era. Somewhere in between is the new Jordan Urban Safari Pack. Pictured above, we can see the Air Jordan True Flight GS in a white upper that offers bright contrasts on the tongue. An orange hue is carried over onto the ankle and midsole, adding a nice balance. Collectors and anyone with smaller feet can cop these now from Extra Butter.

The Jordan Brand “Urban Safari” pack consists of the Air Jordan True Flight as well as this Air Jordan I Retro both in GS, grade school, sizes. This Air Jordan I Retro comes in a mid cut with various colors including Birch, Light Melon, and Black. This AJI comes as a bit of a surprise since no mention has been made of it up until now. Today we give you a look at another popular high top model from the Y-3 Fall/Winter 2009 Collection. The Honja Hi comes in three colorways - black/blue/white striped, black/white and brown. The black and the brown colorways are very solid. We like the used look on the brown premium leather and the perforated parts on the black as well. The striped colorway asks for a little more attention. Look out for these later this summer.

Once again a nice colorway of the Nike Air Trainer 3 LE will be released in the near future. The sneaker comes in a white/grey/orange colorway with most of the white leather being perforated. The grey panels around the laces feature a pattern, and the orange pops off nicely. Overall the sneaker still keeps a clean look and is perfect for the summer. Atmos will be releasing the Nike Air Trainer 3 on May 30th.

Air Jordan V (5) - Dark Army - Look See Sample

Jordan Brand is on quite a roll at the moment. The Air Jordan V Toro Bravo Package is releasing early to make room for the Air Jordan XII ‘Nubucks’ and June shows no sign of letting up. The Air Jordan V Retro pictured above is set to drop next month and we’ve seen a few different versions. The most recent design features the ‘23′ rear quarter embroidery we’ve come to expect from AJVs, along with a white sharkstooth with black splatter accents. The earlier version had no embroidery and featured a cinder (think burgendy) midsole accent. This pair also uses white stitching on the upper, instead of cinder for the official release joints. As it turns out, those were pictures of a look see sample, and you can cop them in US size 9 from Marquee Sole.

It comes in red, blue and black, with a nice premium wrinkled leather upper. We like that the sneaker comes in tonal colorways.
